Every Day Is Women’s Day at OMT

International Women’s Day is a day that we celebrate around the world in honor of women’s achievements in all sectors of life. Women are the backbone of our society and are integral members of our workforce.

At OMT, we strive to empower women in all fields in our company, ranging from IT and business development, to customer care and internal auditing. Our workforce is comprised mainly of women from all age groups, totaling 37%, while women represent 47% of all OMT leadership roles.

These women have shown resilience in the face of all the challenges that Lebanon has faced in the past year and a half from the October Revolution, the economic crisis, and now COVID-19. They have shown up to work and have maintained a high level of professionalism despite the difficulties that they have had to face. We believe that our employees at OMT, especially our women, are the reason why our company has been able to persevere during such difficult times and has been able to provide services to millions of people in Lebanon.

Therefore, we are flexible with working mothers by providing adequate amount of time for maternity leave, allowing remote work if necessary, and encouraging working mothers to maintain a work-life balance which contributes to an overall healthy environment. We believe that providing these opportunities for women is crucial because I personally know firsthand how difficult it is to manage a household with children while simultaneously working. I am committed to creating a space that will empower our women of today by providing a supportive environment within which they can flourish.

The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day is “Choose to Challenge”: “We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women's achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world. From challenge comes change, so let's all choose to challenge.” OMT chooses change and chooses to bring forth these uncomfortable truths so that we are able to be a true equal employment workforce.
